Two ships of the four total in the class, Kirishima and Hiei, played an important role in the Guadalcanal campaign and were eventually sunk. The Kongo class will be the first new capital ship to join the ranks of the IJN for the pre-release version.
Work is about 50% done, with damaged and destroyed state needing some revision. Placement for the turrets needs to be revised, no.3 turret needs a re-rendering to properly blend with the superstructure. Some re-texturing will be done though, as I don´t like the way of the plating anymore. The ship is scratch-built and for this I am satisfied with the result- appearance of the ship is met well enough for my taste...
